This week the guys laugh about the first reviews for the New Fantastic Four movie, and wonder what went wrong.

Also, Mr. Fulton’s mortal enemies, the diabolical Konami Corporation have struck again, and Kyle considers applying for a position on their security team.

The guys dissect Sony Pictures’ release schedule and wonder if another remake is necessary.

Jack talks Starman comics, and Kyle counters with tales of the supernatural detective Constantine. To wrap up the show Jack takes us out with one of his mixtape intros. It’s that kinda show!

Dudes, what about the FF is it that Hollywood cant seem to get right? You would think the comics were written by Lovecraft or Don Delilo?

  • Abe
  • Abe

The first step on Kyle’s path of gambling addiction.

  • I’m never fucking playing those games.

  • That Sony release schedule is awful as fuck.

  • Jack Randomm

I knew there was a Kyle gambling joke there somewhere, but I couldn’t find it. Good one, Slate.

  • Money Monster – 4/8/16 – Might be cool, solid cast.

    The Shallows – 6/24/16 – Likely a dumb PG-13 horror film.

    Ghostbusters – 7/15/16 – LOL WHO CARES?????

Patient Zero – 9/2/16 – Another “zombie” film.

The Magnificent Seven – 9/23/16 – Guaranteed horrible remake.

    Underworld 5 – 10/21/16 – Don’t gives two fucks about this series.

    Passengers – 12/21/16 – I’ll watch this whether it’s good or bad. J-Law. <3

    Jumanji – 12/25/16 – Hahahahahahahahhahahaha no.

    The Dark Tower – 1/13/17 – Don't care.

    Resident Evil 6 – 1/27/17 – Nope.

Bad Boys 3 – 2/17/17 – Fuck this overrated series!

Baby Driver – 3/17/17 – Sounds stupid but it's Edgar Wright so I'll give it a chance.

    Barbie – 6/2/17 – Just fuck off.

    Uncharted – 6/30/17 – Haven't played the games so I dunno.

The Lamb – 12/8/17 – Animated kiddie shit.

Bad Boys 4 – 7/3/19 – Fuck this overrated series in the ass!

  • Love Shaolin Soccer.

  • Jack Randomm

LMAO @ Bad Boys! I don’t know if the series is overrated. I don’t know anyone who counts these as faves. They’re just goofy buddy cop flicks. I support because…well, shit, man…two black leads. That shit’s rare.

  • Zed

At least a few of these probably won’t happen. I mean, Bad Boys 4? Give me a break.

Go fuck yourself with a cactus, Paul Feig.

Underworld 5 will be a reboot with Michael B. Jordan as the vampire girl.

Resident Evil in January? That bad, huh?

They already made an Uncharted movie in the 80s. In fact, they made three of them.

  • Jack Randomm

Okay, that’s my second favorite Starman.

  • Jack Randomm

    Indy!

  • Abe

I think it’s actually hilarious how awful Konami is sinking. They’ll be a full blown Bond villain organization soon.

  • Jack Randomm

    Umbrella Corp.

  • Abe

Or, as you put it: The military.

  • Jack Randomm

At this point I’m happy to see four people on the team.

  • Kyle Fulton

God no. Just no. Konami is getting my money for Metal Gear Solid V this year, and after that, they’re never getting a dime from me again. Not one.

  • I really don’t like Martin Lawrence and this is the only thing keeping his career alive.

True about the black leads though. These are easily the most financially successful films with 2+ black leads (I assume, too lazy to look it up).

  • Time to get into Pachinko.

  • Stalkeye

It’s a sad state of affairs for Japanese Gaming companies.
Capcom is running out of Money,SEGA is nearly bankrupt and Konami…is just Konami. (Don’t get me started on Nintendo!) The Big three were my go-to Companies and now, The Japanese programmers are more erratic than ever.

  • Stalkeye

Resident Evil 6? that Fucker PWSA need to give it up entirely!
bad enough he ruined the Film franchise and now he’s threatening us with yet, another sequel? Jeebsus!

  • Jack Randomm

Outside of blaxploitation or “hood movies” (which may be the same thing) I don’t think those movies exist.

  • They say it’s the last one. I guess a reboot will come in 5 years.

  • Stalkeye

I was hoping that the Hack would finish the last Movie sooner so that a much better Reboot might occur. If i run into “Weasel Shit” Anderson,(At the NYCCC by any chance.) I will gladly let him know how bad his films are. (;’

  • “I never expected to see a FF movie in my lifetime” And now you can enjoy 4 bad ones!

  • Rotten tomatoes scores may not mean nothing. But if they are under 10%, they usually mean something.

  • Abe

    Someone write this down.

  • Tarmac492.1

I think I liked the first one better, but they were both good, I thought the first one had more humor and Tcheky Karyo is always welcome. John Sally as the hacker was funny in a small scene. Damn, I havent seen Martin Lawrence in forever. Please no Jaden Smith as the new upstart cop on the force.

  • Stalkeye

    *Spits out Iced Tea*

    Holy Shit, LMMFAO!

    Well played.

  • Tarmac492.1

What about Tyler Perry flicks(are they hood movies)? I guess they dont make the cash of a bad boys. Life with Eddie and Martin was a long time ago. That was alot stronger a flick than it got credit for. Solid comedy/drama that was probably marketed wrong.

  • Zed

Tr4inwreck is going to stay under 20%. I can feel it.

  • It sank from 20% to 8%. Not a good sign.

  • Tarmac492.1

An average security video for a shopping mall can get higher than an 8%

  • Jack Randomm

Life was marketed terribly! They advertised it as straight up comedy. I remember Bernie Mac promoting it on Letterman, Dave saying how funny the cast is, and Bernie insisting that it was a drama.

Dave and the audience roared with laughter as Bernie sat there with a hurt expression on his face.

  • Tarmac492.1

Bernie is missed. His stand-up nearly had me wetting my pants sometimes.

  • Abe

    Tarmac’s new series coming soon.

  • Jack Randomm

I guess when I say “two black leads” I mean a mainstream movie. Perry’s audience is niche.

  • Tarmac492.1

    Gotcha!!

  • Kyle Fulton

Dude, you don’t have to. I meant it. If through some bizarre set of circumstances, they put out a game I want to play? I’ll buy it used. They’re not getting a single fucking dime of my money.

  • Jack Randomm

I meant to say “good”. A good FF film in my life. Remember, I’m the guy who walked out of the first one and left my pre-teen son alone in the theater.

And the second one, now that I think about it…

  • Jack Randomm

“Church movies”! Tyler Perry makes Church movies! His audience is purely church goers!

  • Tarmac492.1

Ohh. I iwll stick with Davey and Goliath and Highway to Heaven(mucho fun getting baked to that during college and getting all philosophical!!LOL good memories)

  • Turd Has Escaped The Gravy

The Dark Tower series could be incredible in the right hands. The rest are shit. Two new Bad Boys movies? Fuck off.

  • Turd Has Escaped The Gravy

To think we could have had Romero directing the first one! Then again, given his track record since the early nineties, perhaps that might not have worked out too well.

  • KilliK

he doesnt care about your opinion. he is rich and fucks one of the hottest women on the planet. besides, his RE flicks are not that bad, at least they are not Uwe Boll level bad.

  • KilliK

well, at least he directed the intro of the Resident Evil 2 videogame.

  • Probably. I’ve never read it (not much of a King fan, aside from The Stand), so not overly interested. But yes, the right hands would help and Goldsman/Howard are far from that. No idea about this Nikolaj Arcel fellow. The casting would have to be pretty damn special to get me interested at this point.

  • Upcoming Straight Outta Compton might have an impact, though I guess it’s a “hood” movie.

Oh, and I know it doesn’t fit the criteria due to being non-American and not exactly mainstream, but my favourite movie ever is City of God. Black leads, mostly black cast. Brilliant fucking film.

  • Dr. Geiszler, Kaijuologist

Is the Corman flick really that bad?

  • Dr. Geiszler, Kaijuologist

………………..I dig both movies. *runs away in fear*

  • Dr. Geiszler, Kaijuologist

I will never like the RE movies because they’re B-movies done horribly.

  • Dr. Geiszler, Kaijuologist

I know how that sounds but there’s so bad its good and there’s so bad its horrible.

  • Dr. Geiszler, Kaijuologist

Terry Gilliam doesn’t always hit it outta the ballpark.

  • Dr. Geiszler, Kaijuologist

    But Solid Snake owned Watchmen!

  • Dr. Geiszler, Kaijuologist

    Stephen Chow FTW!

  • Dr. Geiszler, Kaijuologist

    Great pods!

  • Bop

Tchecky Karyo is super badass. That guy seems to love playing nasty characters.

  • Bop

    Who doesn’t? 🙂

  • Bop

Chow is severely underrated. Love his stuff.

  • Tarmac492.1

Very entertaining actor. I will take a Tcheky Karyo over 10 Robert Pattinsons or the like any day.

  • Bop

    Did you see Dobermann?

  • Stalkeye

He’s rich because people buy into his bullshit movies like you.
And yes, they are near the level of Uwe boll bad. Zombies firing SMGs? yeah, fucking lame! Keep drinking that Kool-aid, son.

  • Stalkeye

Yes, I have read Romero’s script and it is an entirely different beast. (Not in a good way, either.) PWSA’s spin on RE is too gimmicky with all “style’ and no substance. Either way, the RE Film franchise is royally fucked.

  • Stalkeye

I don’t see the appeal of the Resident Evil Movies as the films stray from the game’s mythos. Paul Wanker stain Anderson’s adaptations are turrible to say in the least.
It lacks the premise of Survival horror and is devoid of any frights whatsoever.
(At least I had the shit scarred out of me when playing the first 3 RE games.)
The concept of a super powered protagonist, fighting off a horde of zombies so easily does not emote “Horror’. instead, it’s a fucking Comicbook Film!

If you guys (Esp. Jack and Kyle) prefer the films over the games, that’s your loss.
And i can understand that the games are not your thing. To each his own, (Even my boy Rich Buckler shocked me, when he told me that he really like PWSA’s RE Movies!!)
but to say it’s better than the source material is an unfounded opinion.
Yes, I’m a huge fan of the franchise until crap like RE6 and Operation Raccoon City came out.

My friend and I had more fun riffing on Resident Evil retribution, than the film itself.
Silly, cliched and loaded with unnecessary fan service. FTS!

  • Stalkeye

    PREACH MENG, PREAAACCCHH!

  • Stalkeye

It’s a disservice to Shinji Mikami-san’s franchise even before the disappointing RE6 game. I’m curious to see how bad Sony would fuck up a MGS Movie and especially witnessing Kyle’s reaction. (0:<

  • Stalkeye

Not sure about Romero directing the intro. That’s news to me.

If anything, He directed the Commercial starring the late Brad Renfro. Um, yeah. /:

  • Stalkeye

  • KilliK

Romero’s movies had zombies firing SMGs.

  • Stalkeye

Duh! I don’t need him to care when I know that i’m right:
His RE Movies suck. Pauly gets a pass for Event Horizon and MK but that’s it. Do you think Roberto Orci or Abrams care for our opinins as well? Maybe not but it still doesn’t stop us from calling them out on their hackery.

    Thanks for playing. (0=

  • Stalkeye

The FF Marvel masterworks that jack had mentioned are available (via sale) for only $3.99 at comixology.com get it before the end of this Weekend.

  • Tarmac492.1

I think it was Romero that was going to at one time direct Resident Evil, right? At that point(90’s or 2000’s) you dont know what Romero you are getting. I do like Land and even Diary . Survival is fucking garbage. Worse than Season of the Witch. I do love Milla.

  • Tarmac492.1

I am not a FF fan, but the 2nd one actually angered me.

  • Stalkeye

I printed the entire script from one of the youtube clips i posted.
it’s not the RE that I know and love from the games but it at least was familiar to the game’s premise/concept unlike what PWSA has done

  • Tarmac492.1

Goldsman is as big a hack as Lindelof, Kuntzman and Orci. Seriously. Howard is a competent director with some really good stuff under his belt, but he is not right for this. Goldsman is not right for scripting a Deli menu. HACK.

  • Tarmac492.1

I liked Land and Diary(ducks to avoid projectiles) but Survival was shite.

  • Tarmac492.1

    I did not

  • Tarmac492.1

    Me too, mang.

  • Tarmac492.1

    Yup I saw that downthread.

  • KilliK

and Death Race 2000. and he still doesnt care about your opinion.

as for Orci and Abrams, bad example, they do care about our opinion.

  • The ongoing Konami Saga(tm) strikes again, lol.

  • Stalkeye

Sowwies, Fanboi but Death Race sucked.

  • Slot machines. WTF?

  • Seriously, what the effing fuck is going on in there?

  • “Five Nights at Freddy’s” sounds interesting

  • Jack Randomm

Good man! I’ll pick up a couple!

  • LMAO

  • “The Dark Tower”-series is too epic and too dense to not be fucked up by a studio. And considering it’s Sony, the odds of that are even bigger.

  • Stalkeye

I was a big fan of the Lee-Kirby Days so I quickly snatched this for my Tablet and smartphone.

  • Yeah, Bill Nighy is always good, even if the movies he’s in always aren’t
    http://media-saver.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/e7e17b6dbill_nighy.jpg?w=500&h=386

  • Those FF reviews are just gold

  • I enjoyed “Chronicle” too – but from between the lines one can read that Trank was probably locked out of the production of FF at some point.

  • I really liked the Deadpool trailer and that pre-trailer just totally nailed that “fourth wall”-breaking Deadpool that everyone knows

  • KilliK

    nope, it didnt.

  • I enjoyed the hell out of Keanu’s Constantine. I’ve said it before many times, but I like Keanu more when he’s playing characters who are a bit(or a lot) A-holes.

  • Thanks for the plug, Jack

  • Jack Randomm

Hahaha! Sorry Stalks, but I feel that those games have a horrible storyline and the dialog is silly at best. The movies are a complete departure from that, and they don’t appear to take them seriously, so I don’t.

Just dumb popcorn flicks. Action movies.

  • Jack Randomm

City of God is phenomenal. I never saw the series that it inspired. I think it aired on IFC or Sundance.

  • Stalkeye

Jack, the stories especially from the early RE games intentionally paid homage to both Romero and Carpenter films. that withstanding, there was an sense of fear when playing these games. I strongly doubt that the Dialogue from RE4 was silly unlike the last Resident Evil sequel that displayed a line of Alice Clones zipping by on hangers as if they were clothing. There’s also that Barry Burton death scene. WTF A. was “Weasel Shit’ trying to add humor or B. just bankrupt of talent? (I’m going with answer B!) I said to my friend as we watched the Movie, “Lemme guess who’s sitting in the Oval Office, Wesker”! ZIIINNNG!

That ending where Alice, Wesker, Leon (way out of character compared to the game) Ada Wong, etc. standing atop the Whitehouse was Fucking laughable! They might as well said; “Collect them all”!

Kinda reminded me of this. LOL

But hey, to each his own right?

    http://vignette1.wikia.nocookie.net/gijoe/images/a/ae/GI_Joe_Season2title.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20110704155352

  • Jack Randomm

I hear ya, but I consider the game and movies to be entirely separate entities. Similar in name only. I couldn’t tell you any of the plot points of the movies, only that they are silly fun to watch on cable.

You sound like me bitching about the Street Fighter and Chun Li movies. Just enjoy the games, my friend.

  • Bop

You owe it to yourself to watch that movie. Tchecky is particularly vile in that movie.

  • Bop

What was that column you did in which you watched trailers? Bring it back.

  • Dr. Geiszler, Kaijuologist

Honestly, I got Winter Soldier to bounce back on if the MGS movie ever gets made and then ruined.

  • I found it was too time consuming and kept me from writing other stuff. But maybe. A regular schedule could help get me out of this writer’s block funk.

  • Stalkeye

True dat. Have you seen Ant-Man, yet? It’s better than what I expected.
Paul Rudd, Michael Douglas and Pena’s performances stood out the most. Then there’s a few guest appearances. X:

  • Dr. Geiszler, Kaijuologist

    I’ma see it soon!

  • Kyle Fulton

We’ll see. King held on to the rights to it until he found someone he thought would do it right, based on personal conversations with the man, and then sold them for 19 dollars. Originally, ha gave them to J.J. Abrams to produce, but when Abrams gave them back – presumably due to being offered Star Wars – King gave them to Ron Howard. As far as I know, Howard is still in charge. He never stopped trying to get a green light from studios. If he’s the one who got it, I trust that the movies have a genuine shot of being good.

  • Kyle Fulton

It’s anything but unfounded, thank you very much. The game’s mythos is a disaster that stops making even the barest level of sense after a single game – and I own and have played and beaten literally every single one, usually multiple times, including the abysmal Operation Raccoon City. The games – like basically all games – are my thing. The movies are still better. Unlike the games, the movies know exactly what they are. They have a firm course and never divert from it. They have known from the first minute of the first movie exactly what they were trying to be and do, and the plot makes sense.

Can you explain to me what the plot of the games are without naming more than one inexplicably evil corporation? I know for a fact that you can’t. What is Wesker’s plan in the games? What makes these evil corporations continue to make decisions that lead to deaths, especially after they succeed in getting BOWs onto the global scale? Why do they continue to hide things behind secret doors and weird puzzles when they’re no longer run by Wesker and the Spencer family? At least then you had the excuse of “Oh, well they’re doing illegal human experimentation and one of them is insane and obsessed with puzzles, so secret puzzle rooms make sense.” But now? Past about RE4, that stops making any level of sense. The BOWs are legal now. Many countries and groups use them, so why are the experiments still kept a secret? Characters diverge dramatically from their own histories and personalities, the writing has continued to be terrible FAR past the time in which it could be blamed on shoddy translation. Worst of all, they’ve committed the cardinal gaming sin of forgetting what they are. They’ve wandered away from horror in every way. I still enjoy the games, mostly because they have cool monsters and Wesker is a fun villain, but at this point they’re not good by any stretch of the imagination.

You’re going to complain about the movies not being scary? The GAMES haven’t had the slightest element of survival horror in them SINCE RE3. At least the movies never pretended to be anything but what they are. The scariest monster in RE5 was a regular crocodile. When the scariest thing in your monster game is an ordinary animal, you have fucked up beyond all reason.

The movies are action flicks with cool monsters and a simple, straightforward plot. The corporation is still evil because Wesker is in charge and he’s batshit insane. One single event caused by a deranged AI is the cause of all the monsters in the world, instead of it inexplicably happening over and over a dozen times. Every aspect of those movies is thematically and stylishly consistent – which is admittedly easy to do when your theme and style are “attractive people kill monsters”. And that’s exactly the point.

A good movie is one that knows its audience, and conveys what the filmmakers wanted to convey successfully. The same can be said of games. The movies succeed, the games have been failing for over a decade.

  • Kyle Fulton

Yeah, agreed. That bastard knows how to adapt something to film.

  • Kyle Fulton

They’re absolutely fascinating, but if you’re into the lore and story, you’re better off seeking some videos out on YouTube than playing them yourself. For pure gameplay and seeing a guy get the shit scared out of him and frustrated beyond all reason, you can’t go wrong with Markiplier’s Let’s Plays. For unsubstantiated but brilliantly researched and assembled theories, you’ll want Game Theories. For discussions of the confirmed lore, there are literally dozens of videos, as well as a solid Wiki.

I’ve considered doing my own videos, but by the time I get them together, they’ll be obsolete. This shit moves fast!

  • Kyle Fulton

    Yyyyyyep.

  • I just hope that Akiva Goldsman is being kept the fuck out of that production office.

  • Jack Randomm

    Holy fuck, Fulton…

  • Jack Randomm

I was pleasantly surprised! They even worked Hank Pym into the cinematic universe’s history seamlessly.

Good flick, great addition to the Marvel franchise.

  • Jack Randomm

It’s just very cheap, and very 1980.

  • KilliK

    WELL.FUCKING.SAID.

I have been arguing the same things for years, whenever someone renounces the movies as a blasphemy for the videogame series. ok, it’s your right to not like them, no problem with that, but dont try to convince me that the games are some kind of untouchable videogame masterpieces which have been tarnished by awful film adaptations. because they arent.

  • KilliK

yep, who can forget diamonds like this:

  • KilliK

    link for that script?

  • KilliK

yeah, you’re right, I must have confused the intro with the ads.

  • Dr. Geiszler, Kaijuologist

I saw some of the footage and I thought it looked way better. Cheap yeah, but I felt the heroes were for heroic.

  • Kyle Fulton

    Whaaaat?

  • Stalkeye

“You’re going to complain about the movies not being scary? The GAMES haven’t had the slightest element of survival horror in them SINCE RE3.”

So I take it that you never played Code Veronica or RE0 for that matter? Also the Excella Uroborous was kinda scary.

And there was more character in that game than any of PWSA’s one dimensional protagonists. After losing his partner Jill, Chris out of survivor’s remorse questions his motivations for fighting against Umbrella and and the like only to realize at the end, after Wesker is finally defeated and Jill is alive, he succumbs to the realization that his struggle for Humanity to live in a world without fear, is worth it. Wesker basically has delusions of Godhood and with Uroborous, he wishes to bring about a new World. “War and overpopulation” “Nothing but loathsome Humans”!
Well, he has a point in regards to War and Overpopulation. 😛

RE4 may have been more focused on action (yes, there’s even that Laser corridor part that pays homage to PWSA’s first RE Film.) but there was elements of survival horror like managing your inventory while going at the Granados and it’s frightening minions from the Chainsaw wielders to the Regenerators (Their theme is reminiscent to Fulci’s Zombie.) MORE scarier than…. you guessed it, PWSA’s adaptations!

Yes, the Game franchise has gone to Shit especially since RE6 came out however the two Revelation games are at least making an attempt to bring back the feel of what made said franchise so fucking cool.

As I have said before-Resident Evil games itself falls within the camp but classic horror homage of Romero, Carpenter and to some extent, Fulci. They don’t need to have a Kojima treatment to have a compelling story. (Then again, WTF was MGS2 all about? “Lalaelulaoo”, my Ass!)
Also might I add, I can name a bunch of cheesy B grade Zombie/Action/Horror films straight from Japan and even France that was more scarier than the RE Movies.

We agree to disagree and I’m sticking to my Guns, plain and simple.
    “Samurai Edge, Biatch” (0:’

  • Stalkeye

Yup, they pulled it off again! I was very happy yo see The Falcon make an guest appearance and IMO that Fucker deserves a Miniseries if not a film of his own!
FOX need to give the rights to FF back to Marvel. I’m hearing so many negative things about the Movie that people prefer the Tim Story and to some degree, Roger Corman adaptations than Trank’s stank. LOL

  • Stalkeye

It’s in the YouTube clip under description.

  • Stalkeye

Tue dat, but the Remake is 10x better and without the hokey dialog from the original PSX version.

  • Stalkeye

Holy Shit, I’m still not sold on his arguments….

  • Stalkeye

“whenever someone renounces the movies as a blasphemy for the videogame series. ok, it’s your right to not like them, no problem with that, but dont try to convince me that the games are some kind of untouchable videogame masterpieces which have been tarnished by awful film adaptations.”

The RE games were Masterpieces but not untouchable.
It’s never my job to convince anyone, however I go by what I personally feel. And so have many others who pan the Films.
Spider-Man hasnt been tarnished by the horrid AMS Movies, and TBH without Mikami’s direction, Capcom had royally Fucked up the RE Games starting with RE6. But that still doesn’t give PWSA’s Movies any leeway.

  • Jack Randomm

It didn’t end like this, did it Stalks? This was the final shot of the movie based on my favorite game.

Resident Evil movies are fucking masterpieces in comparison.

  • Jack Randomm

My favorite part of the game! Anytime any of my friends had to unlock any door in real life for the next three years, we referenced that line!

  • Jack Randomm

Between you and Stalks my phone died twice trying to read this.

  • KilliK

Some of the RE games are masterpieces but only for the gameplay part. The story, the characters, the lore, everything is cheesy and ridiculous in the series. You have a storyline which is so convoluted and the gameplay came to a stall, that they had to reboot the franchise twice. And the best appeal for these game, the survival horror aspect is so absent nowadays that it forced the creator of the series to quit Capcom, setup his own studio so that he could develop his own survival horror game.

Dont misunderstand me, I am a longtime fan of the RE franchise but I cant share the same disappointment the rest of the fans feel for the movie adaptations, because there is nothing great to adapt from the games in the first place. I mean, how much better or faithful, can the cinematic Wesker be when he is already a perfect copycat of his videogame counterpart?

  • Jack Randomm

I watched Story’s version last night, and it wasn’t as terrible as I remember. A lot was done right.

But what they got wrong, they got REALLY wrong.

  • Jack Randomm

Oh, Corman had the spirit of the comic down pat.

  • Kyle Fulton

What did I just say? I have played every single game. If I said the games haven’t been scary since 3, it’s because the games after 3 gave me no sense of fear or foreboding whatsoever.

You’re missing the damned point. The movies aren’t scary because they aren’t MEANT TO BE. They never TRIED TO BE. You may as well complain about Die Hard or P.S. I Love You not being scary. THEY AREN’T HORROR MOVIES.

  • Kyle Fulton

    Why thankya.

  • Stalkeye

“You’re missing the damned point. The movies aren’t scary because they aren’t MEANT TO BE. They never TRIED TO BE. You may as well complain about Die Hard or P.S. I Love You not being scary. THEY AREN’T HORROR MOVIES.”

I “missed the damned point” because I think the point is moot.

The Films are a bastardization of the Games and there were plenty of frights after the 3rd entry of the RE game franchise. Saying that RE films aren’t meant to be horror movies, is like making Spider-man into a Comedy or Musical…oh, wait..!

I’m done going back and forth with this. At the end of the day, the majority of RE Fans Shit on those RE Movies like Comic fans disapprove of the FF Movies including the latest one. You like PWSA’s adaptations, good for you.

    I see different.

Tim’s stuff Shits all over the recent FF and for the record, I somewhat liked rise of the Silver Surfer. The “Cloud” didn’t bother me as much because Galactus is an entity that can be seen is various interpretations depending on the eyes of the species.
Least they paid homage to the classic Dr.Doom acquiring SS’s powers.
I thought a Blue Eyed Latina was too much of a stretch. *Sigh*

  • Stalkeye

    Fair enough.

However, I thought Wesker’s fight from RE5 (Game) was far more memorable than the Movie version. (Thanks in part to the score-Winds of Madeness, and Wesker’s dialouge.)

Well Jack, it kinda did and here’s a fun story for ya.
My friends and I were fans of the SF Games and back in the day, we all gathered at my crib and had tournaments so when the movie came out, I insisted that we go check it out. after the credit rolled my friends choked me from both sides in the theater seats. LMMFAO

That’s how Fucking bad SF the movie was and Steven Souza was never heard from again. (0;’
