This episode of the Imaginarium is dedicated to my cat Odetta, who passed from this world on March 2nd. You’re greatly missed.

Please note: Due to some editing errors that would have been too time-consuming to correct, not to mention beyond my ability, there are several instances throughout the podcast where Todd and my comments overlap. We weren’t talking over each other, but my error in trying to splice two separate tracks together. Lesson learned not to do that again.

This week Scott and Todd talk about why horror fans are pussies. They do a brief recap of the Oscars and delve head first into what will surely annoy some. From  reviews of The Witch, to Pinhead to The Dark Tower the guys let loose with both barrels with no one left standing.  All this and another trip to the 70’s on this episode of the Imaginarium.

Again, so sorry to hear about Odetta, Scott.

I think one other reason the Oscars have suffered an inflation is that there’s just soooo many of these Awards shows now.

  • I_am_better

Yeah it’s a total clip show now

  • I_am_better

I think the “sound” category, where they only played the sound effects in the movie clips was actually a clever bit

  • I_am_better

Agree on both “The Babadook” & “It Follows”. Both are some of the best I’ve seen in a long time

    “Hellraiser directed by Michael Bay….”

Yeah, Jackie Earle Haley was the only good thing in that “Elm Street”-rmake

  • I_am_better

How about Joe Hill playing Stephen King?

  • That’s actually kind of genius.

  • I actually do too the more I think about it,

    Rest in Power, Odetta.

With the exception of some films, like Hammer’s stuff, I’m not really into slow burns especially when it consist of well over 75% of the film. that is the problem I had with John Carpenter’s Halloween. I fell that there should be some modicum of balance between cerebral storytelling and violence unless it’s purely a supernatural story.

    Just my 2 cents.

Rock had a great opening Monologue bust the rest of his Oscar hosting fell flat on it’s Ass. Glad he called Jada out on her Bullshit and there are more important issues for Black people to be concerned about than the lack of noms. Instead, the Bitch should be encouraging more people to vote during the upcoming election.

I can laugh at anything with he exception of AIDS, Cancer and Rape jokes.
That douche who made those Holocaust jokes only to be offended by Rock’s jab at the Police deserve to get his lights punched out. Again, just my 2 cents.
    Freedom of Speech be goddamned!

So sorry to hear about the loss of your friend. I think animals make us better people and that is why they come to us.
Still not listening to your podcast though.
