This is an encore presentation of a past show (meaning it’s a repeat). Imaginarium will return next week, so enjoy Irish writer Kealan Patrick Burke as they guys talk all things horror.

Note: Recording a podcast is a funny thing. In spite of what you hear when recording, often times it doesn’t sound that way upon playback. This is one such case. Everything sounded just fine as we were talking, but when I started editing it, it sounded like ass. Not all of it, but there was definitely a bit of feedback. I have cleaned it up the best I could, and while not the best, still listenable. And I hope you do, as this was a lot of fun, and some pretty controversial picks and thoughts.

Tis the Halloween episode, and it’s bursting with horror goodness. Jerry Janda, Kealan Patrick Burke, and Wade Radford join Scott and Todd to talk about Halloween memories, the best and worst horror franchises, whether CGI has ruined horror movies, AND the return of over/under! Thrill to Kealan’s story 0f his childhood halloween experience! Groan as Scott tells his story…again! Gasp as Wade says something rude! Feel the discomfort as Jerry is told he puts the love in Lovecraft! All this and who picked the Paranormal Activity franchise as a favorite?

Goddamn, I forced myself to watch the rest of the Hellraiser sequels and for what? Blah.

  • Dr. Geiszler, Kaijuologist

Halloween 3 is pretty dope. Maybe if the title was different, it would have made more bank.

  • Dr. Geiszler, Kaijuologist

Just watched The Babadook! Holy shit that movie was intense!

    Candy corn FTW!

  • Dr. Geiszler, Kaijuologist

Eli Roth, so overrated is a natch for him!

  • Dr. Geiszler, Kaijuologist

Only time he was any good was Inglourious Basterds.

  • Dr. Geiszler, Kaijuologist

Stephen King is definitely not overrated but underrated? Eh, I think he’s rated just fine.

  • Dr. Geiszler, Kaijuologist

Hmm, when you put it like that, Scott, I guess he’s underrated. Know what? I’m gonna go with underrated now.

  • Dr. Geiszler, Kaijuologist

Damn, I still need to watch Rose Red!

  • Dr. Geiszler, Kaijuologist

    Great pods, guys!

  • Me too, but for whatever reason that’s what came to mind lol.

  • Well, he’s a brit, what do you expect.? ????

  • It doesn’t and I don’t understand why.

  • Dr. Geiszler, Kaijuologist

I haven’t seen the second one but I remember the third and fourth ones. Three in the morning and it really messed with me.

  • Scott’s scarecrow trauma!

  • I rewatch The Sentinel almost every year.

  • Halloween 2 is great, it really is.

  • What was that opening song?

  • And you made me watch it, too.

  • Saw is a mystery to me. At least its success.

  • Monster Mash

  • Tarmac492.1

agreed. Garbage. Including the original. And I am a Wan fan.

  • Tarmac492.1

    2nd one is quite good.

  • Tarmac492.1

Great idea for a horror film. Fantastic.

  • Tarmac492.1

Maybe some of the the best sequels to a bonafide classic, ever. That and Romero’s original Zombie Trilogy. What else really? Original SW. LOTR…? Not many in my book. I am particularly fond of 2. Meg was always the greater Tilly in my book.

  • Seems like my horror-film rewatches for October are pretty much like everyone’s picks here

  • I liked the first. And they should’ve stopped at that

  • We should just do reviews of Halloween 3 this week

  • Oh, no

  • “Bad Milo” is a riot.

  • Tarmac492.1

Richard Franklin was way underrated in my book. And I remember the need for my mother to do an extra load or two of wash every time I saw meg Tilly on screen.

  • Tarmac492.1

I think Cary Elwes’ acting ability was the only thing SAWed off.

  • Tarmac492.1

I wish I still had my Lamont the Lonely Monster pop up book 🙁

  • I absolutely loved it and don’t care what people think lol

  • Tarmac492.1

oooh Prince of Darkness. Such a cool movie.

  • Tarmac492.1

Uggghh. Halloween over. Now it is Christmas season. Vomit!!!!!

  • Tarmac492.1

Agreed with Wade. It is a great thing to employee people for the season. But, I still say Christmas can go scratch!!

  • Tarmac492.1

    SAW is fucking garbage.

  • Tarmac492.1

I liked Land of the Dead and Diary. Survival is fucking garbage. DOTD and NOTLD are bonafide classics.

  • Tarmac492.1

Paranormal Activity is way better than SAW. PA2 was poop.

  • Tarmac492.1

Totally agree with Wade. Thank you for knocking Friday the 13th as the shit series it is.

  • Tarmac492.1

I liked the first two Hellraisers alot. 3 was good. I dont think I even watched any more.

  • Tarmac492.1

SAW 2 was better than one. Agreed. That is like being the beauty queen of the Leper colony.,
