On this week’s Imaginarium, we have a round table discussion on gaming and gaymers. Joining Scott and Todd are two members of the Phoenix gaymers group, Ruthann Cage and Nickolas Yellowhorse. We talk about our favorite games, what got us into gaming as well as online homophobia and whether having a gaymers group is needed or divisive. Plus find out what classic game Todd and one of the guests have never played!

I’m a hardcore gamer but never bothered to play Final Fantasy . 😛

It’s weird how quickly Bioware folded to those who bitched about the ending of Mass Effect 3.
Despite me having the patch for the alternate ending, I never bothered to go through with it.
From what i heard, it’s still similar to the original.

“A girl that can kick their butt”. Ya damn right, Sweetheart! (;’

Lookit Scott playing crunk music for this episode’s intro. (You go, Boy! (;’ ) Fun Podcast Sir and it’s good to hear from Gamers of various backgrounds. At the end of the day, it’s all about enjoying your hobbies without hurting anyone. As for the trend of videogames being tailored to the LGBT demographic, I believe it was the game Fable that was perhaps the first to include Gay characters without the offensive lampoon. Then came mass effect 2 and the other companies just piled on. Some sincere while others may be pandering to a specific crowd because “Lavender is the new Black”.

Not sure if the character from Mortal Kombat-Kung Jin was used as pandering.

For the most I tend to mute or report the obnoxious gamers who spew Racist, Dumbed down English with profanity and Homophobic comments. (especially when it comes to the Call of Duty Multiplayer matches). I’m certain that most of those little Shits wouldn’t talk smack to my face let alone anyone else’s. The internet has always been a breeding ground for cowards and bullies when it shouldn’t need be.
