On this month’s episode, Scott and Jerry talk about their favorite sequels and somehow manage to insult every Asian culture they can remember. How that happened we’re still trying to figure out. Be that as it may, the guys have some great pics, and as always they have their dogs as well.

    Great sequels:

The Wrath of Khan, Aliens, Yes – Godfather 2, Terminator 2, Predator 2, Magnum Force/Sudden Impact, Temple of Doom, the obligatory Empire Strikes Back, Batman Returns, Evil Dead 2, Hellraiser 2, Rocky Balboa, The Dark Knight, Speed 2…

  • Turd Has Escaped The Gravy

Psycho 2, Die Hard with a Vengeance, Lethal Weapon 2, Nightmare on Elm Street 3, The Road Warrior, Back to the Future 2, Leonard Part 6…

  • Turd Has Escaped The Gravy

I have to correct something from the discussion: First Blood did not do poorly at the box office – it was a sizeable hit and very profitable (unadjusted for inflation, it grossed $125 million worldwide on a $15 million budget). Not as big as the second movie, but still a substantial success.

  • Good point, I thought so as well, but didn’t check the box office. I’ll slap Jerry for that.

  • Psycho 2 was going to be my pick, but we’ve talked about it a lot on past shows and didn’t want to repeat all that. Besides I really dig P3.

Japanese pronunciation is easy for Westerners if you are German-speaking.

Evil Dead 2 is far more rewatchable than Army of Darkness.

    Great sequels:

Crank 2, Any Which Way You Can,From Dusk Till Dawn 3: The Hangman’s Daughter, Bourne Supremacy, Bourne, Ultimatum, Pusher 3, Rush Hour 2, Die Hard With A Vengeance, Mad Max 2,Transporter 2, Rocky III, Rocky IV, Young Guns II

Temple of Doom rocks. Best Indy-movie.

I must be the only person who hates Blade 2.

    Speed 2?……..

  • Stalkeye

Well, i agree with you on that aspect.

EXCELLENT PICKS! You wanna know why? because i would choose the same answer!!! I’m actually working on a RETROspective for one of the aforementioned films!!

  • Dee-abolik

    yeah I know, I know….

  • HorrorFighter

    OK, that’s pretty damn hilarious.

  • HorrorFighter

I had talked about Mad Max 2 on an earlier episode. Otherwise, I definitely would have picked it for this show. It’s worth noting that Young Guns II was Scott’s dog on the Westerns episode.

  • HorrorFighter

    Tease.

  • HorrorFighter

Thanks for that. I dunno why I thought it was a flop. It was 13 when it came out, and I have no recollection of it being in the theater. I saw it on VHS, and I thought the same was true of most people

  • HorrorFighter

    I haven’t. I wasn’t much of a fan of the first one.

  • HorrorFighter

    My thoughts exactly…

  • HorrorFighter

I spoke about Road Warrior on an earlier episode. Otherwise, it would have been on my list. Good call on Leonard Part 6. It’s such a great film it’s as though the first 5 don’t exist.

  • HorrorFighter

The Dark Knight almost made my list. Good call on Batman Returns. I think it’s far superior to Burton’s first Batman film. I also kinda dug Predator 2. And while I enjoy the Dirty Harry sequels, I feel like they misunderstood the character…which was my primary criticism of most of the Rocky and First Blood sequels.

    XD

  • Turd Has Escaped The Gravy

Nope. And I’m surprised at that lack of reviews for it on any site. Seems like a complete non-event.
