This week the guys are joined by Jamill Payne and DJ Ocebot to talk all things music! Of course they’re still disgusted by Jared Fogel and certain television directors, so you know there’s going to be off-color jokes at their expense.

Also, the ratings for Fear The Walking Dead challenge Kyle’s worldview.

So kick back and laugh with the guys as they debate who has the worst taste in music, and you may be surprised at what they really like to listen to!

Fucking governments and miscreant municipalities suck. I feel a super villain brewing hatred for all govts every time I turn on the tube. How we let these flabby, doube talking, do nothings con us into giving them money and our souls for absolutely no return, I will never know.

  • Tarmac492.1

mannequin. You can find them all over the USA. I fucked a few when I was really drunk. I’ve had worse.

  • Tarmac492.1

I really like Master of Puppets and And Justice For All.

  • Kyle Fulton

I can’t claim they’re better, but I can definitely argue that they’re pretty good on their own. Sorta.

  • Kyle Fulton

Okay, what, specifically, did those things?

  • Kyle Fulton

    I was so scared.

  • Kyle Fulton

    Weekend at Bernie’s 3?

  • Stalkeye

The only good Limp Biskit song.
Other than that, they suck and so does Staind.

  • Stalkeye

    Megadeth for obvious reasons!

  • Stalkeye

Jamill is a Beatles Fan? Other than a few good songs, like Lucy in the Sky, Lonely People I never really understood the appeal but hey, they were a bunch of talented Sods. I actually prefer Wings because any Band that pays homage to “The King” deserves notice! Happy Birthday Jack! (Kirby.)

  • Stalkeye

Props, Jacky! Flashlight still gets play up in NYC! One of the best Jams that came from the 70’s. They don’t make em like they used to. And Fuck Kayne. Looping works best for DJing and not a commercial release. I gotta ask my Boy, DJ Soundwave about his perspective of West’s Music. Sure he had some great Shit like “Why” “Goldigger”,etc. but to me, he’s like the Black Justin Bieber. Both annoying Narcissists just that Kuntye is way more talented and I cant take that away even if I tried.

Starting to get into Sufjan Stevens. Yeah. maybe hipster, but better than much of the other stuff. Love his song Chicago. So wonderfully and tragically American. Like taking a beautiful girl to the carnival in the pouring rain

  • Tarmac492.1

This was great drinking music for us suburban slices of bleached wonder bread. Chuck D’s voice hits you like a sledgehammer weighted with rocket fuel whiskey.

  • Tarmac492.1

He is a cunt. His behavior at awards shows is despicable. Everything is about him. He is the hip hop Veruca Salt(character not nineties band)

  • Tarmac492.1

Love Wings too, bro. I think the Beatles are better though. Much. The Beatles, Stones, The Who and The Beach Boys and, of course, Jimi were doing shit in the 60’s and early seventies that still hasnt been bettered. Just my opinion of course.

  • Tarmac492.1

The Temptations and Marvin Gaye will never be bettered. I like me some Martha and The Vandellas. And if you dont like the Fifth Dimension with Marilyn McCoo you will incur the wrath of this Irish piece of garbage writing this post!!!! Fuck you!!! You think Sara Bareilles gonna give you Wedding Bell Blues???

  • Full Frontal Throttle

    I like Staind

  • Full Frontal Throttle

    Master of Puppets!

He is a douchebag’! He needs to never sing Queen again! That was comical it was so aweful!

    Battery!!!!!

  • Tarmac492.1

What??? Kanye tried to sing Queen? As in Freddie Fucking Mercury and Brian May Queen. All we hear is Radio GaGa Queen?

  • Stalkeye

Shit, I love the fact that Dave Mustaine based his song-Psychotron from one of my favorite Comic characters; Deathlok! Also, Holy Wars was inspired by The Punisher believe it or not. Mustaine was a huge Comic Geek.
KISS had a great gimmick but I’m not really into them. Love “Party every day”. Have you seen that Hanna Barbera special way back? I dont know which was sadder, that or Electro Woman and Dyna Girl. XD

  • Stalkeye

So does my Good friend Timmy who blast their shit while driving, but I still think they are Overrated. Home was nice but that’s it. I’ll take Sevendust over them anyday Just my opinion, me Boyo.

  • Stalkeye

I respect your opinion as always even when we disagree 😛
Wings was more experimental and their songs reached out to me. A few hours ago, I was tapping my feet to “Goodnight tonight” on my Radio.
Stones , The Who and Pink Floyd are great classic rock bands. Queen gets my full support. They were brilliant just like Jimi Hendrix who is legendary.
Not into Beach Boys but I’m curious about that Biopic.

  • Stalkeye

There are a few Celebs I would love to Punch out and that Bitch is one of them. Such an embarrassment. I’m no fan of Taylor Swift or Beck by any means but they didn’t deserve that Shit. Let that Fucker pull that on Drake or Fiddy. And I can imagine the outcome. What a Pussy.

  • Tarmac492.1

Great point about who he pulled that on. I like Beck but I think Swift could beat him in an arm wrestle.

  • Tarmac492.1

Uncle AlbertAdmiiral Halsey is a fave of mine. And yeah I like Silly Love Songs……….

  • Turd Has Escaped The Gravy

I love The Beatles, but McCartney’s solo/Wings work is definitely underrated.

Those characters are/were fairly obscure (he also mentions Iron Man villain, the Crimson Dynamo, in the song, and X-Men wasn’t a top seller until the mid-seventies), so he must have certainly been a fan. That’s impressive for a near middle-aged man in the early seventies, long before Marvel was mainstream in the general pop culture way it is today.

This was the killer single. I still annoy the neighbors with this one!

    “Here come the drums!/ Confusion!”

  • Tarmac492.1

I also love She Watch Channel Zero. Gotta love that sample of the awesome Slayer guitar riff from Angel of Death. and PE/Anthrax Bring the Noise is pretty spectacular IMO.

ahhh the magical drunk zone. So perfect and u truly are the most interesting man in the world. it is sometimes so elusive to get into that zone

  • People seem not to be tired of Zombies, I am for sure.

  • “Bones of a dead man” is a great song.

  • FloRida sucks ass.

  • Stalkeye

I remeber how the Missus used to have that damn “Low, Low, Low” song as her Ringtone. ARRGGH! Annoying one (S)hit wonders.

  • Stalkeye

PE & Slayer was one of the first to incorporate Fusion (Rock n Rap) aside from Beastie Boys and of course Run DMC.

  • Stalkeye

Well, Drake did smash a bottle over Chris’ face so I gotta give him some kinda props. Then there’s this..XD

  • Tarmac492.1

I think that is why I liked PE so much, as well as Run DMC. They seemed to like Rock(music which I listened to mostly) and really bridged that gap, and we are all better for it. Even the non Anthrax Bring the Noise is basically just a heavy rock song with awesome Chuck D’ness.

  • That’s by him too? I just remember his “round and round” BS.

  • Jamill Payne

I like Wings, but i feel like it’s Paul McCarthy unchecked and unfilter. There are some great songs but there alot of clunkers and sometimes to much sentimentality.

  • Jamill Payne

I like Hammer. But i was Like 5 years old lol

  • Stalkeye

That was their “big” song that garnered so much hype for reasons, I don’t know to this very day.

  • Stalkeye

Well Jamill, although I respect your opinion I am inclined to disagree. In Layman’s terms; I can’t cosign on dat. 😛 Remember, I said Wings was more like an experimental Pop band and Paul expressed his creativity to critical acclaim. I can’t remember any memorable songs when Lennon went solo aside from Mind Games. Although not solidified as Beatles, their best songs rivaled some if not most of the “Fab Four’s” library.

Funny when you mentioned “Clunkers and sentimentality”-All you need is Love, Here comes the Sun, Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, I thought those songs were rather non compelling to say in the least if not Headache inducing. (0;’

I prefer these guys over the Beatles, anyway.

  • Jim Kee

Ride The Lightning was my first Metallica tape. Still my favorite. Second is Master of Puppets. Both of which were taped off of my friend’s tapes. I was pirating Metallica before Napster.

  • Jim Kee

Thanks for the birthday greeting. Last year I was the answer to Life, the Universe, and Everything. So what does that make 43?

Unfortunately I was unable to enjoy a dram for my birthday because I was in the middle of Bumblefuck, Virginia visiting my in-laws. They did, however, take us to the best restaurant in Halifax, VA. That may not sound like that much of a compliment but I would drive the 8 hours again just to go back to The Molasses Grill.

I was going to have a cool sounding whiskey drink, but my MIL wanted a bottle of wine, so I wasn’t going to argue too much since I wasn’t paying. I did have a nice coffee and Sambucca with my dessert.

  • Jim Kee

I’ll weigh in on music anytime (whether you fucking ask me or not).

I don’t count the Beatles. They were all I really cared about until about 12. I liked other stuff but it was pretty much all Beatles, all the time.
Then my taste in music exploded when I discovered a band called XTC. Very Beatlesque, but slightly punk in the early days. They quickly became my favorite band. That lead to The Sex Pistols, and they blew my fucking mind. Soon after that I discovered a genre that would define me for a loooooong, loooooooong time: Goth.

DaFuq?, you say? Goth? Hell yeah. We’re talking the beginning of when the Goth movement got a name. The 80’s was where it was at. Bauhaus, The Sisters of Mercy, The Mission UK, Fields of the Nephilim, Red Lorry Yellow Lorry, All About Eve, Gene Loves Jezebel, Flesh For Lulu, Love and Rockets, The Cult, Dead Can Dance, The Cocteau Twins. Eventually I came around to the Cure. In 86 I discovered (along with millions of others) The Church. They are still my favorite band.

I was rabid at this point, anything labelled a “college” band or British was in my wheelhouse. REM, They Might Be Giants, The Pogues…. The list, and my tape and cd collection just kept growing. I bought Nine Inch Nails first album the week it came out because I read a blurb about them in some magazine. I remember the smell of the cassette, it was different than anything else I every bought before. I don’t know what they used for paper or ink that made it smell different, but I loved it.

Music was my drug. I’ve never gotten high or done drugs, but the music I listened (and still listen to) made people think I was. I wonder what some of my teachers would say if they knew I became a pharmacist.

    Anyway, I digress…. Three Bands:
    THE CHURCH
    XTC
    ATHLETE.

Interestingly for all you Dr Who nerds. Athlete does the song Chances that plays at the end of Vincent and The Doctor. It was such a powerful scene and song that I shazamed the song then pretty much went and got everything by them.

Honorable mention: Steven Wilson (Porcupine Tree). The guy is a musical genius.

    Three Songs:
    1) Tomorrow Never Knows by THE BEATLES.
    2) Grind by THE CHURCH.
This one is more in flux, currently:
    3) Vehicles and Animals by ATHLETE.

Lyrics and Music were always big for me. I wrote a short story right after college that I made a soundtrack to go with it. It’s one of my favorite things I’ve done. Never got around to actually editing it, though. Maybe some day.

  • Jim Kee

Other than that, great show. I love the outtakes at the beginning and ends of the show now. I fell like an insider. I still don’t understand why you guys don’t answer me when I talk to the podcast.

Jamill and Kyle make me feel old.

  • Stalkeye

Thanks for the plug of my as well as Dee’s AoT reviews, Jack.
I hope that you enjoyed the Movie cause if not, I’m sure you’ll let me know. XD

  • Ain’t no more shit gonna come out on Jared, mother fucker took a deal.

  • LOVE IRE AND SONG YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

  • Can’t stand City and Colour.

  • I wouldn’t even know where to start with my favourite songs. Top 3 is fucking impossible.

  • 90’s country… *cocks gun*

  • God damnit Kyle you went from the high of Frank Turner to the low of Panic at the Disco back to the high of Barenaked Ladies, only to ruin that by listing their mid-period albums as the best. What happened to you!?!!?!???!

P.S. The new Mumford & Sons is garbage.

P.P.S. All the BNL albums after Steven Page left the band are garbage.

  • Bombs Over Baghdad is an awesome song, but fuck I hate that God damn Ms. Jackson song. The chorus is like nails on a chalkboard to my ears.

  • I’ve never understood the appeal of Kanye West at all. I don’t like his production/beats at all and his voice just annoys me.

  • Iggy Azalea is fucking awful. Fuck it, Nicki Minaj, Azealia Banks, and anyone else like that sucks too though.

Rihanna is the only one in that group of similarly styled artists I can tolerate. Still not for me, but from what I’ve heard she actually seems somewhat talented and not just an industry manipulated hack.

  • Jack Randomm

    Woooo! I am fo-reeeaaal!

  • Jack Randomm

Shit, Jim…That’s a lot of music I have to familiarize myself with! I know XTC, REM, and the Cure, and that’s about it. I meant to mention on the show that I became a Beatles fan because of their cartoon. Not Yellow Submarine (though I loved that as a kid too), but the animated series.

  • Pure hate.
