    Second, and downloading now.

  • Kon’t nami or Konami? There’s the question.

  • Gotta admit: haven’t played any of the Silent Hill games

  • I liked that first movie, actually.

  • I just screened “An American Werewolf in London” in the weekend to someone who had never seen it. And goddamn if that “dream within a dream”-bit didn’t make her jump. 34 year old movie, and the best jump-scare still works, lol.

  • Remedy is from Finland, yes. They’re working on a scifi game next, but a sequel for Alan Wake is not totally out of the question, I’ve heard.

  • Stalkeye

What’s this, another Jackast?? And it guest stars my favorite Austrian since “Ahhnuld”! i’ll be playing this bitch on my way homeward. (But not before heading to Lamestop to pick up a few WiiU games for cheap. Bayonetta 2, here I come!!)

  • Stalkeye

Dont feel bad, i haven’t either and I have the remastered collection sitting in my shelf!

  • Evil Dead 4, Jack. 4. Army of the muthafucking Darkness

  • Stalkeye

I was more into the Resident Evil camp to care about SH. However, Konami’s franchise offers a very unique approach to the Survival Horror genre. The first Movie was actually good. Too bad I cant say the same for the second.

  • Haven’t even seen the second

  • Stalkeye

After the way they mistreated Kojima-san, they are officially Kunt-nami!

I’m done with those idiots (Well not before getting MGS: Phantom Pain.)

  • Stalkeye

    You aint missing out, K.
    Trust me, it’s that baaaaaaddddd!!

  • The Conjuring was a good one. Made me jump, and that’s rare nowadays

  • [REC] is a classic. The sequels are a bit diminishing. Ef the remakes

  • Stalkeye

“Remedy is from Finland, yes. They’re working on a scifi game next,”

Oh, yeah!! I’m looking forward to their XBone exclusive; Quantum Break.

And like everything else, it’s been pushed to next Year.

    Fuck!

  • They are known to fine-tune their games for as long as possible.

  • Turd Has Escaped The Gravy

Raimi is often touted as a “master of horror”, but was he really ever such?

Only the first Evil Dead qualifies as a straight horror movie (and just barely, at that). I don’t see Army of Darkness or Drag Me To Hell as anomalies in his body of work, and when people complain that the balance of comedy in them was too high, I have to wonder what they were expecting. Raimi’s sensibilities are too cartoonish and silly for him to ever make a truly frightening horror movie.

  • C.U.J.O.? Oh, man – sounds like a remake not worth my time

  • Bop

Agree. I love the first and after the second I didn’t bother anymore.

  • Stalkeye

Ouch!! This been in the works for two years. I guess that explains the constant delays.

  • Bop

I should check that one out.

  • I guess they don’t like to publish buggy things that require hundreds on MB’s of updates in the first week

  • Kyle Fulton

Don’t play those. The remastered HD severely fucked up the games. They removed vital visual effects, created audio bugs, rerecorded the voices. Play the originals or do NOT bother playing them at all.

  • Kyle Fulton

I don’t believe it’s a remake. Gotta be just trading in on the title.

  • Tarmac492.1

I agree one hundred percent. I love the movies, but the only reason the first one was any scary was because it was low budget. A talented, ,talented filmmaker, but maybe not a master of horror. And he will step out of his comfort zone–A Simple Plan was a neat, heartbreaking thriller

  • Tarmac492.1

Kyle–as a super King fan, what are your thoughts on the 1979 “Salems Lot? Forgive me if you have discussed this already hearing Jack’s awesome voice makes me want to drink some whiskey.

  • Tarmac492.1

The Conjuring was an excellent horror film. A blast at the theatre, although I jumped more than my date. I was added to the friendzone afterwards 🙁

  • Tarmac492.1

I did hate tthe Exorcism at the end, though. A complete bore.

  • sawyersolo

yep agree 100% ill give him ed2, for the gore and cleverness the horror was portrayed with, and there are some pure horror moments in that film, but after that, it’s self parody and glossy action-humor…bodes ill for the ED series…looks super campy…thats S-mart stuff from those flicks is ass and raimi is generally ass besides a couple of spider mans and a couple of evil deads…yeah i liked that evil dead remake, he produced it, ill give him that, and darkman rules, so, 5 films,

  • Oh, man. Friendzone. That’s where I live my life.

  • sawyersolo

third was good, in the desert with the heroes chick

  • Tarmac492.1

Same thing with ‘Salem’s Lot. Lent it to a woman I work with(who is a writer) and she said when Barlow pops his head up in the jail she almost had a heart attack.

  • Tarmac492.1

Now that is a horror movie!!!

  • “no negativity from me, until you mess with the stuff I love”
    Ain’t that the goddamn truth.

  • “Wilhelm-scream” LMAO
What did you guys do to Dee?!!!?

  • Hey, the theme from “Phantasm”. FUCK YEAH

  • I’m used to it.

  • Tarmac492.1

No love for A Simple Plan?

  • sawyersolo

Did you guys discuss The Houses October Built? in your haunted houses bit?

  • Stalkeye

Actually, I was referring to the videogames. I hated the Movies!

  • Stalkeye

Well, that defeats the purpose of it being “Remastered”.
If i can overlook the blocky aesthetics from the PSX, sure i’ll grab the originals or emulate the suckers!

  • You are not incorrect. But I think that “Evil Dead” was truly creepy when it came out. “ED 2” was cartoony, but there was still a eerie quality to it. What “Army of Darkness” and “Drag me to hell” missed, especially the latter one, is a certain “edgy” quality that those movies and other works like “Darkman” definitely had. Especially “Drag me to hell” felt like Raimi conjuring something he just did not have anymore.

  • ED and ED2 are great, as are Darkman, The Gift and A Simple Plan. Army of Darkness and The Quick and The Dead are not great, but very watchable, although The Quick… suffers from a weak script.

I am not a fan of the films he directed after The Gift, including all Spider Man movies.

  • sawyersolo

spider-man 2 is one of the greatest comic book movies, ever…

  • Exorcisms should be banned from movies. There was exactly one good exorcism movie in film history, guess which one.

  • I know I am in the absolute minority but I always preferred the first TAS movie over the Raimi films. Not talking about TAS 2 though!

  • sawyersolo

i liked the reboot myself, costume and all, not 2 tho…raimi’s spidey and that one are apples/oranges

  • sawyersolo

    silent hill sucks

  • Maybe. Raimi’s efforts were just a tad too heavy-handed and lachrymose for my tastes. I was also no fan of Maguire and Dunst, ugh.

  • Jack Randomm

Y’know I forgot Quick and the Dead was him…I have to readjust my opinion.

  • Full Frontal Throttle

I liked the first and second one.

  • Full Frontal Throttle

    Damn friendzone!

  • Full Frontal Throttle

I did not like it. Same ole same ole…..

  • Full Frontal Throttle

    Uhhhhhh……

  • Tarmac492.1

I do think Wan has to get away from Creepy dolls….

  • Full Frontal Throttle

    Uncle Frank

  • Full Frontal Throttle

    I would agree with that

  • Tarmac492.1

I find myself wildly attracted to Dunst.

  • Full Frontal Throttle

    Yes sir

  • Full Frontal Throttle

I think the point is, Raimi is not a Master of Horror

  • Tarmac492.1

I think ED was creepy mostly for the low budget look.

  • Maybe. But he made an impact on horror!

  • Tarmac492.1

Is Cronenberg stilll a Master of Horror? He hasnt directed a true horror movie in close to 30 years, right? Trying to think I missed any.

  • KilliK

    bingo

  • KilliK

    nope.

  • Abe

What the…was Kristen Stewart in it and I just missed it?

  • KilliK

he is not a master, but his first two ED movies were very influential for the horror genre.

  • KilliK

creepy because of its low budget?
then you should see its predecessor: Into The Woods. it was Raimi’s film school project which he later remade as ED1. you can watch it in Youtube.

  • KilliK

his best film. then he became a HW whore.

  • Tarmac492.1

yes i think the somewhat grainy darkness adds some atmosphere. Is it possible I have into the Woods on my dvd? Never watched. Will give it a shot.

  • Tarmac492.1

Also the meanest looking werewolf ever.So glad it was before CGI.

  • Tarmac492.1

    so sad

  • Tarmac492.1

    Happy bday Dee!!!! 74 today?

  • Hey!

  • Abe

    Nancy Grace is pretty sad.

  • Kyle Fulton

Jack, we finish the superweapon yet?

  • Kyle Fulton

I honestly barely remember it. I seem to recall that I liked it, but I couldn’t talk about it in depth.

  • Kyle Fulton

    Yep.

  • No, but the few horror movies he made still hold up.

  • Full Frontal Throttle

Yes, especially the horror/comedy film. To me, nothing he has done is “horror”, except maybe the first ED.

  • sawyersolo

    Give me the negatives

  • KilliK

    nope

  • Stalkeye

    Glücklicher verspäteter Geburtstag Dee! (0;’

  • Stalkeye

It’s an ol skool beat from the 80’s that were used in a few dance clubs at the time.
Still holds up to this day!

  • Stalkeye

Sounds like a potential GI Joe villain.

  • Stalkeye

“I like big giant metal things that punch shit”!

Fuck yeah, Jackie! Been a fan of Giant Robots/Mecha since the good ol days of Anime.

But I still have a lil love for giant Monsters, this one in particular..

Very irresponsible C*nt that deserves 30 years max and have her tubes tied and cauterized.

  • Stalkeye

    Would you do..

    Ah, I didn’t think so. (0;’

    Tarmac, same question.

  • Stalkeye

Glad to head that Dead space was mentioned. That was my second favorite horror game aside from Resident Evil and despite the 3rd DS not being as good as the first two, it still maintained the scares unlike the recent RE games which are more like “Gears of Evil” instead of Survival Horror.

I would love to see Jack’s reaction while playing The Evil within. There are quite a few “Shit your pants” scenarios and to be honest, I haven’t finished the fucking game because i’m stuck with the “Boxhead” boss. Pain in the Ass stage!!

Bloodborne is another great Horror game. Think Chakan-The Forever Man, Nightmare Creatures and Dark Souls all rolled in one. Best PS4 exclusive this Year!!!!

  • Tim R.R. Something

I read that title and immediately wondered if it was a dick joke.

  • Tim R.R. Something

And they lived happily ever after. Too many people are going to think that.

  • Stalkeye

    It’s a start. 😛

  • Tarmac492.1

she appears to be an awful human being. Cunt.

  • Stalkeye

I gotta agree with Jack (AGAIN!) Army of darkness was too slapstick and was not scary compared to the first two Evil Dead films. I never got the hyperbole for this Movie and Raimi should have kept the apocalyptic ending intact.

  • Stalkeye

    Exactly!

  • Jack Randomm

Hahaha! That made me laugh so much, I don’t have a snarky response!

  • Jack Randomm

    “Gears of Evil”.

    Awesome.

  • Jamill Payne

How are going to name Horror-Comdey and not Name “American Ware Wolf in London”

  • I have no idea what that said, but upvote anyway

  • IT’S TRUE

  • The worst.

  • High Tension isn’t based on Intensity. They outright plagiarized Intensity. FACT!!! as the Creepy one would say.

  • Scariest film for me is The Shining. Suck it Kyle!

  • My favourite horror/comedy is Idle Hands. Dead serious.

  • Nothing But Cunts
