Certain actors and actresses get their significant role, that they are forever remembered by. Stallone is Rambo and Rocky. Statham is The Transporter and Chev Chelios, Vin Diesel is Dominic Torretto and Riddick, Al Leong is the Asian thug, Riccardo Pizzuti is always that guy that gets beat up in Bud Spencer and Terence Hill movies etc etc. Well, Scott Adkins is bloody fucking Boyka.

Scott Adkins is a cool guy. To me he is kind of the new Van Damme in that he mainly makes martial arts movies that are often straight-to-video. Yes, he does sometimes get roles in bigger movies, but he is never a main character in those big movies.

When the first Undisputed, done by Walter Hill, was released nobody expected that that movie would span various sequels. I didn’t even give a shit when the first one got released. Wesley Snipes was going downhill and doing movies I just didn’t feel like watching so I passed on Undisputed. When Undisputed 2 got released I passed on that one too.

Then came Undisputed 3. The reason I watched that movie was because of Marko Zaror, a very underrated martial arts actor from Chile and it happens that Scott Adkins was also in it and that is the first time I saw Scott Adkins in action as Boyka. He could keep up with Marko Zaror and it was mindblowing, so after that movie I started paying more attention to him as well and saw most of his movies.

So a while ago I got the chance to watch Boyka Undisputed, which is the 4th part in the Undisputed series. The Boyka character started in Undisputed 2 and got perfected in Boyka Undisputed. That is all I can say. This movie made it clear to me that Scott Adkins has his significant role, something that many actors will never reach in their life.

Motherfucking Boyka

So how is the movie? In my opinion it is excellent. Some people might complain that the scenes have been sped up, but somehow it adds something special to this movie. There is lots of excellent martial arts fights, great character work by Scott Adkins mixed with redemption storyline. Also, there is this roided up motherfucker who is the end boss. I thought he was CGI-ed, but the guy looks like that for real. Mindboggling.

One can only imagine what would happen if they made a Boyka movie with a big budget. The possibilities… Needless to say I am waiting for the next installment if there will be one.

If you like martial arts movies and don’t know Scott Adkins check out Undisputed 3 and especially Boyka Undisputed. You won’t regret it. There is only one thing left to say.

“Bring me your fucking champion!!!”
