I Am Better

Coming from the frozen wastelands of Finnish tundra. Mr. Better seeks warmth from his television & home theater and all the wonders they provide. He occasionally dabbles in the arts of drawing and photography.

  • LOL JONATHAN BANKS LOST FUCK THIS SHIT

  • I totally expected this first post 😀

  • Stalkeye

Ray Donovan didn’t even get a nom? Fuck the Emmys! GOT winning is obvious and I’m glad The Knick was up for consideration. Great series that i had to re-watch and I rarely do that with most TV shows nowadays.

Homeland is sooooooo overrated. They need to kill it with fire!

The Missus loves that orange is the New Black but it’s not for me.

And the intro is bad artistry..looks like some Shit a dude or Chick from SOHO cooked up.

  • Stalkeye

    Who dat?

  • Bop

Fuck The Scammies. It is the same old scam every year.
The Shield got fucked over many times, as well as SoA.And I am sure if I did some digging more shite would come up.

Speaking of Ray Donovan. Great episode again. Won’t say anything coz you might not have seen it yet. Did you notice fucking Balki in Ray Donovan last week? And of course one of my favorite female actresses Sarah Shahi was also there.

  • Infinite Zissou

Drunk History clearly deserved all the awards.

  • Tarmac492.1

Why is American Horror Story classified as a mini-series? Isnt it a full 13 episodes?

  • ErnestRister

Awards speeches by actors and artists who take these awards shows seriously are a riot. People sit in front of a camera with a large crew, everyone doing everything they can to make the actor/actress look great and help them get where they need to be, and then they do a great job acting, and then the actor/actress wins an award and they think they’re Gandhi or that they cured polio.

Joe Pesci and Walt Disney knew how to win awards. You just pick the thing up, wave a thank you, maybe say a sentence or two, and walk off stage.

  • Infinite Zissou

  • I dunno if it’s got something to do with each season being self-contained. I’d say it’s an “anthology series”, but what the hell do I know, lol

  • Tarmac492.1

Sarah Shahi is fucking smoking hot!!!! Yikes. I am two epsiodes behind in Ray Donovan. And yeah the Shield was fucked over constantly. The Show and FX were groundbreaking with it!!!!!

  • Stalkeye

Oops! Sure its not Frank Mcrae? XD

  • Tarmac492.1

That fucking mug deserves an Emmy just because.

  • Tarmac492.1

    FUCK YOU CONVICT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Well, kinda on topic, as he won last night…..

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY BILL MURRAY!!!!!!
    http://img3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20081013140955/ghostbusters/images/1/11/Bill_Murray.jpeg

  • Stalkeye

I’ll be seeing it Ray Donovan tonite! (Who’s Balki?)
Yeah Bro-Meng, The “Scammys” think that they are too cool for school that why the Shield and SOA was snubbed by those elitist pricks.

  • LOL
I’m getting a deja-vu that we had this convo before….

  • Stalkeye

    You’re very perceptive, Bro! (;’

  • Bop

They used to show this show Perfect Strangers here in Holland. Balki was this funny talking guy from a fictional Greek island. His saying :”Don’t be ridiculous” was his catchphrase.

Elitist pricks describes the Scammies perfectly.

  • Bop

If I were famous I know whom I would be chasing. 🙂

  • Tarmac492.1

I used to love Perfect Strangers when I was a kid. Man, that show is old. I think I was in grade school or maybe junior high? maybe high school? I dont know I am old.

  • Infinite Zissou

You’d think they’d make a rule about how anthology series are supposed to be categorized instead of letting each one pick and choose based on winning potential.

  • Tarmac492.1

Chiklis’ nuanced portrayal of Vic Mackey should have earned him multiple awards–one of the ultimate anti-heroes. The look of shame in Vic’s eyes when Dutch is ripping into him for ragging on him was one of the greatest things I have ever seen on tv, or film for that matter. I am sure the multiple pretty boys dou jour that won over Chiklis were well deserved. Fuck you!! And props to Sutter for never taking a break!!! Here’s to hoping Peg Bundy rewards him with multiple blow jobs after each script he finishes!!!

  • Infinite Zissou

  • Tim R.R. Something

I really don’t know how to react to a show I like (Game of Thrones) doing so well. All my life, from Star Trek on all of the shows I liked were cancelled.

  • Tim R.R. Something

    Oh, you like rules eh?

  • Tim R.R. Something

You should do a Supernaughts Award show for best whatevers, including posts. I will graciously accept my award for most sarcastic,

  • Infinite Zissou

The Naught Awards will be housed at Vegetable Lasagna in January. A 4 hour live show with call ins.

  • Infinite Zissou

    Or not. I mean whatever.

  • Infinite Zissou

I’m all about rules and structure. None of this making-it-up as you go silliness.

  • Tim R.R. Something

You’ve got to fly in the Europeans. None of this “accepting on behalf of…” shit

  • Infinite Zissou

I was actually thinking we’d be hosting the Supernaughts Oscars for movies and we have someone unrelated call in to accept each award on behalf of whoever won.

  • Tim R.R. Something

Best movie ever until Jaws the Revenge.

  • Tim R.R. Something

Someone= Moose, Chris and Walden Pond.

  • Infinite Zissou

No, you guys. We’d be hosting so we couldn’t accept awards.

  • Infinite Zissou

Readers/contributors could all vote and we’d have winners that I wouldn’t know prior to the show, etc. I can do it without your help, Tim!

  • Infinite Zissou

  • Infinite Zissou

So should I watch episode 2 of Game of Thrones then?

  • ErnestRister

George R. R. Martin is getting ever larger and not getting any younger.

  • Tim R.R. Something

You and your fucking rules man, you’re what’s wrong with this country!

  • Infinite Zissou

    Everyone’s a winner, baby, that’s the truth

  • Tim R.R. Something

An interesting subtext to viewing is you can see them dial down the porny bits as the show gains respect. They vanish almost entirely and then creep back in.

  • Infinite Zissou

Yeah all I remember about the first episode was something about middle ages type stuff and a lot of sex.

  • CreepyThinMan

“I’M WHAT COUNTS OUT HERE, NOT YOUR FUCKIN COUNTRY CLUBS OR YOUR FUCKIN TV AWARDS SHOW” – Walt Disney

  • Tim R.R. Something

There’s an infamous/ridiculous/awesome scene in the first season where Littlefinger basically ignores two women having sex in front of him while he monologues about his schemes.

  • Infinite Zissou

Hahaha well that’s certainly a good pitch.

  • Tim R.R. Something

I would just walk up, take my award, empty my gun into the audience, and leave.

  • Infinite Zissou

I watched the first 10 minutes or so of The Walking Dead years ago too but haven’t gotten any further.

  • Full Frontal Throttle

Does anyone watch these shows for real?

  • Full Frontal Throttle

    Award shows that is…

  • Full Frontal Throttle

They still do these award shows? It’s funny how when the shows people like win, they are like “Hell, yeah, got it right this time”, but when their shows don’t win, it’s like “Fucking award shows, what does these pricks know?!” I have never put any merit, or wasted any time on these type things. Bottom line, don’t mean shit! Believe That

  • Stalkeye

    Most do, actually.

  • Stalkeye

LMAO Hey, have you ever watched the SOA wrap up show Anarchy Afterword? Brilliant stuff especially when Sutter appeared as a guest.
When he responded about Gemma’s Death-“The Bitch had to Die”!!
You should’ve seen the remark on Peggy’s face! XD

  • ErnestRister

“HOLD UP, WALT. I’M GOING TO LET YOU FINISH, BUT BEYONCE HAD THE BEST NATURE DOCUMENTARY THIS YEAR!!!”
    — Kanye West’s Grandfather

  • Tarmac492.1

    Used nicely in Frances Ha!

  • Tarmac492.1

He looks Exactly like this contractor programmer we dealt with at my last job. Dude was a genius but he had no social skills. Although, he was able to sit quietly and program when my boss’s boss-cocksucker that he was–was screaming at him like there was no tomorrow. I wish I had I could be that tranquil. I am sure he was getting paid well.

  • Tarmac492.1

True. I also thought that promotions at my job were based on merit.

  • Tarmac492.1

It is why I love VLS so much. Not a moment is wasted. I almost expect to hear the Law and Order noise every three minutes.

  • Tarmac492.1

No lol!!! I still need to watch the last season. I binge watched the first six in about a month earlier this year.

  • Tim R.R. Something

    Hypocrisy is fun

  • There will be something. Just haven’t had time to start figuring it out yet.

  • Tim R.R. Something

    Everyone’s a winner, baby, that’s the truth

  • Full Frontal Throttle

Most who? I actually don’t know one person I am associated with, that watch any of these, except may be the MTV awards because I have teens. Awards shows are caca

  • Stalkeye

It’s almost like the Super Bowl or something like that. People like to bet on the notion that their favorite shows might win but it’s the same old story. GOT cleaning house and overrated series are winning over those that deserve an Emmy or at least a Nom.

  • Stalkeye

See how it all ends. All I can say, is how Shit got real during the last few eps!

  • Stalkeye

    Oh, that Pinchot guy. LOL
I didnt recognize him but I know that Hank Azara is back to start more Shit with Ray. LMMFAO at Avi pissing on Ed’s puter among other things. What the Fuck???!!??

  • Stalkeye

Fell asleep throughout the whole affair while The Missus watched the entire thing. I should’ve at least stayed up for the “In Memorium” segment to see who passed on that I wasn’t aware of.

However, I’m glad I missed out because I could care less about Tracy Morgan.

Not funny, too belligerent and he blew off a former coworker who just waved at him. (She was a fan of 30 rock too. ) Fuck him.

  • Bop

That Avi shit was smut I don’t like. 😀 Didn’t really fit with the show if you ask me.

  • Bop

It got real for sure. Mang, that was some epic shit.

  • Full Frontal Throttle

Lol, nothing like the Super Bowl, not even remotely

  • Full Frontal Throttle

I had football on and watched an episode of the Strain

  • Full Frontal Throttle

    Agree on Morgan; douchebag

  • Stalkeye

LOL the guy that said if his Son was Gay, he would kill him. Class act that one. And Amy Schumer being Funny? that’s news to me.

  • Stalkeye

To those who like awards shows and shit.

  • Stalkeye

It was Funny just to see Ed get the living shit scared outta him!
And how Katie Holmes pulled a switch of course Jon Voight killed as Mick!
He got Ray good. My Wife and I couldn’t stop laughing after that Pool scene. Oh, I’m sooo looking forward to the season finale!!

  • Stalkeye

Not really, however with RD, you can expect the unexpected.

  • Full Frontal Throttle

I have not heard that news either

  • Full Frontal Throttle

I have never liked shit. ;p

  • Dr. Geiszler, Kaijuologist

    YES GODDAMMIT.

  • ponyboy_360

I feel terrible for Donal Logue.
    Great Canadian actor.
Amazing in “SOA”, & numerous roles.
    Reduced to talking a paycheque.
    “Gotham” is for children.
Does anyone really think that shit sandwich of a show, is good?
    It’s laughable.
The lead actor, who’s name I can’t even remember.
    Is a short runt, hilarious.
He’s the authority, in a city filled with “ruthless” criminals?!
You could step on that dude, he’s irrelevant.
Little Brucey & the chick with the “E.T” eyes.
    Even worse.
“Gotham” is easily worse than “The Flash”.
& that show is putrid, only made it through
    6 episodes.
If anything, “Daredevil” should be talked about.
    Not kiddie shows.
    The Emmys?
    Haven’t watched in years.
    Sorry IAB.
This is the only thread on SN I can post about TV, in general.
I’ll post on the threads which are specific to a TV Series I enjoy.
This thread seems open for TV talk.
    Out.

Only 12 million people tuned in for the Emmys this year, it’s the lowst-rated of all time.

  • Oh, no problem

  • Tarmac492.1

Logue deserves better. He can do anything. I actually liked Grounded for Life–the sitcom he did with Megyn price(got a thing for her). He did the entertaining indie rom-com The Tao of Steve which was a staple on IFC when IFC was, you know the Independent Film channel.

  • ErnestRister

I’m not watching any of it until Martin finishes it and I hear people liked it. Hate getting invested in TV shows that don’t conclude properly, The X-Files destroyed long-form TV for me. What a waste of time…

  • Good.

  • Stalkeye

Have you seen him in Copper? Too bad the series was cancelled after 2 Seasons despite it’s high ratings. Fuck you, BBC America!

  • Stalkeye

Gotham only serves as background noise on my TV. However, I liked the opening of Season 2. Thanks to that montage with Lou Reed’s “Perfect Day”.

  • Tarmac492.1

    Been meaning to watch Copper.

  • Tarmac492.1

    Jets 2-0?/ Whaaat????

  • ridic

  • Stalkeye

I’m gonna revoke your Irish Card if ya don’t! 😛
Damn good series that should have had at least 1 more season.

  • Tarmac492.1

more people watched the debate? Wow. When was the last time that shit has happened, I wonder?

  • franks_television

    Better Call Saul was robbed!

  • ponyboy_360

    IAB.
We’re getting ready to go to a concert.
    Just wanted to mention.
    I re-watched the Brynner/Crichton film, “Westworld” recently.
I’ve seen you mention it before.
It is a guilty pleasure that still holds up for me.
I think I’m gonna add the
“Westworld” HBO Series to my Fall TV schedule.
    It has a stellar cast.
& one of my favourite character actors of all time, Jeffrey Wright.
Hope you & I can chat on this in the near future.
    Cheers bud.

  • Zed

Looks like Tumblr: The Series. Wouldn’t watch it for all the applesauce in Glückenschabbel.

  • Stalkeye

    XD @Tumbler: The Series.
That song is soo fucking annoying too.

  • Stalkeye

No, it should be an article of it’s own. as in an original joint contributed Podcast and host live on SN Radio.

  • The teaser for the show did get my interest peaked, that’s for sure.

  • Full Frontal Throttle

Season two looks promising, but I enjoyed season one. Nothing awesome, but I enjoyed

  • Full Frontal Throttle

    Gotham is not that bad.
Have you seen 1st episode of season 2?
    The Flash is just OK…..
Daredevil has set a new standard…….
The lead short, runt actor would crush you with his tiny pinky……..
For some reason, Harley makes me Horney…..

  • Full Frontal Throttle

    Same

  • Full Frontal Throttle

Yes, and then episode 3, then episode 4….

  • Stalkeye

I just wish they would skip to Bruce ready to kick ass as batman, instead there’s this whiny Punk Kid. Gordon might as well be Batman since he’s kicking all kinds of Ass.

  • ponyboy_360

    You’re entitled to your opinion.
    Mine is.
    “Gotham” is pure juvenile shit.
Laughable, every single character made me laugh.
    It’s a joke.
“The Flash”, which is even worse, is for children.
Both of those shows should be taken off the air immediately.
    That short runt from “Gotham”.
Would have to stand on 3 Apple crates.
Just to look me in the eye.
& at that point, his little runt arms would just be flailing.
Trying to no avail, to hit me.
    “Daredevil” had an excellent
    First Season.
    & yes, Margot Robbie, is a 10.

  • Coupon: The Movie

I say we throw a bone to Puck: “Live, from Nova Scotia!”. Fly us all in.

  • Coupon: The Movie

Dude, Ed Harris as the robot cowboy taking over for Yul Bryner. I’m all over that.

  • Coupon: The Movie

I enjoy the hell out of Kate Mulgrew. Only good thing about Voyager.

  • Coupon: The Movie

It won’t get cancelled. They’re riding it out until the end. If it was on any other network then that would be a real possibility, it being a genre show and all. I’m totally invested. Started reading the books in 99 and thought “oh man, this would make a great HBO series”, so they got me but I’m still more interested in seeing how it ends on the page.

  • Coupon: The Movie

He’s actually a pretty personable guy although very soft spoken.

  • Stalkeye
  • Tarmac492.1

I dont doubt it. He hit it big with GOT. Good for him. Nice when cool people make it big.
