I Am Better

Coming from the frozen wastelands of Finnish tundra. Mr. Better seeks warmth from his television & home theater and all the wonders they provide. He occasionally dabbles in the arts of drawing and photography.

  • Willard

Nice! Sheesh that spider is big…

  • I_am_better

I sholda added a warning to arachnophobes, probably

  • I_am_better

Considering that I drew most of it in fading sunlight while the power was out, it turned out all right

  • Stalk👁

LMMFAO its another John Peters reference!!

  • Stalk👁

I’m no fan of kevin smith but his comment about Wild, Wild West was gold!
“He actually got his Fuckin’ Spider”!!
I need to watch that part again.

  • I_am_better

I wasn’t even thinking that, lol. Must’ve been in my mind subconsciously. But that gives me another idea…

  • Stalk👁

Keep ’em rolling! There’s great potentitual there!!

  • Stalk👁

    Great work as always, Kim!

  • franks_television

Nice work! You came through despite adversity.

  • I_am_better

Yeah. Adversities while under pressure always get me a bit off the rails, but the power finally came back after 45 minutes or so.

  • franks_television

Good to hear. If you had unlimited budget and electricity your comics might suffer creatively like the Star Wars prequels.

  • I_am_better

    Hahahah

  • Kylo Ronin

It’s fine, mang, it’s cartoony enough that I won’t jump out of my seat.

  • Kylo Ronin

That premise sounds similar to the sequel of John Dies at the End. Hmm……..

  • I_am_better

Ah, never read that. So I guess John made it? Just kidding – I saw the movie 😀

  • Kylo Ronin

LOL. Yeah, the sequel, This Book Is Full of Spiders: Seriously, Dude, Don’t Touch It, has that. Definitely a tighter read and I highly recommend it.

  • Tarmac492.1

I dislike the concept of Spiders.

  • Tarmac492.1

    Great stuff again, mang!!

  • I_am_better

Funnily enough, the first version of the story only had the first five panels. I had a problem with finding an idea – then decided to make a story of him not having an idea. A fly was buzzing inside the house and thats how the notionof him thinking he has an idea but it was only something crawling on his head.

Then I though – as any normal person will – of talking, intelligent and psychic spiders.
    XD

  • Turd Has Escaped The Gravy

There’s a flaw of logic in this cartoon. If the spider is giving Studio Head his ideas, what’s to prevent it transferring its wished-for concept of a movie about psychic, mind-controlling spiders to Studio Head’s brain?

    I’ve overthought this, haven’t I? Ummmmm….

  • Turd Has Escaped The Gravy

Jon Peters must make an appearance in future strips. He taught Studio Head all he knows.

  • I_am_better

My logic is as solid as the timeline in 20th Century Fox’s X-Men movies, goddammit!!!
    XD

  • Tess

I like spiders, you should give him a name. He really looks like he is part of the studio head’s hair, and thinning hair at that so it makes it more comical. Reminds me of how to get ahead in advertising when that boil talks to him.

  • Tess

    You afraid?

  • Turd Has Escaped The Gravy

    I’ve figured it out.

If the spider gave him the idea, Mr. Head might put two-and-two together and realize he was being controlled (since the clue is in the very concept)…and thus wouldn’t be malleable to any further ideas. Thus, the spider’s trapped in a catch-22 of its own making as the the concept of spiders psychically controlling humans is, ironically, the one movie concept it can not give Mr. Head.

    Phew…my brain hurts.

  • I_am_better

I’m impressed. That theory makes me look a thousand times smarter than I really am.

  • Jen 💕

Oh my word AB….its almost like I am imagining that very real looking spider giving u ideas when u tackle each comic! loved that…..and got a shiver down my spine 😉

  • Well at least it’s not a wasp.

  • I_am_better

    Lmao

  • Slate_Fistcrunch

He’s ruminating in that chair? Sick

  • Stalk👁

I love the last 3 panels with the Spider providing commentary. That came out of nowhere and is a clever suprise.
